Last night our little angle didn't seem to want to go to sleep. Mario went into his room about 230 am because he was calling for DADDY. When daddy was in there he only wanted mom. He came into our room and let us know he wasn't going to sleep. He jumped, he sang the ABC's, he rolled , he climbed, he talked, he laughed at noting at all and the Mario finally fell asleep leaving Katie to deal with the crazy boy. We aren't sure what time he finally went back to sleep.
Mario received an email this morning from the SDSU finical aid office letting him know that he has received a grant that will cover almost all of his first two semesters! What more can we ask for. That is a great blessing for our family.

So today Mario had a big plan... invite the young men over to play video games and also cut the lawn. Since we have moved into the house we have needed a weed eater and today was the day that Mario went to WalMart to go buy one. While he was there he found a slip and slide that he has been wanting for the last few years. We have not had a yard and so he has never bought one. Now was the time so he came home nice and happy ready to play with all of the kids we had over today. The kid count was 6.. Two Lomenick kids, Ryan, marios nephews George and Jonathan, and a little girl Katie babysits. The kids spent the morning cooling off and playing in the backyard in the kiddie pool. When the kids were bored with the pool we busted out the popsicles and everyone was enjoying their otter pops before noon.

When the excitement of otter pops wore off Mario brought out the slip and slide. It took awhile for the kids to get the concept of running and sliding (not falling) onto the plastic but after a few assisted launches they got the hang of it! It was a nice cool way to spend the afternoon on a hot day and really felt like summer vacation for Mario. He even honored us with a homemade lunch, scrumptious chicken salad sandwiches with all fresh ingredients straight from the farmers market.

So today was an exciting and eventful day. Mario got an early start to his day only to receive a hysterical phone call from Shelly. She was screaming about a rat and her back room i wasn't sure what was going on. Then i started to make some sense of her ranting. There was a dead rat in the back room. As i was driving Shelly called me again to tell me that the rat was not dead but was alive. As soon as I got to the house i grabbed a shovel and scooped up the rat put it in a trash bag. David was with me and went towards Shelly with the half dead rat in the bag. it was kind of funny.

Well then latter on during the day i received an email from San Diego State University education department. I was told that I had been accepted into the Masters on Education in educational technology program. I start the program in the fall and will finish in 6 semesters including summers. So in 2 years I will be done with my masters degree.

Our Lame Blog

Ok, ok... so maybe our first attempt at blogging was not quite as successful as many of you had hoped. Remember we did leave a disclaimer that we wouldn't be the best bloggers ever. Well Ryan sneezed yesterday and the had a poopie diaper. lol




Ok really... School is out for the summer and we are ready to have some fun as a family. Mario just got back from the ward High Sierra trip and made it back in one piece. His toe is a little sore and cut from swimming in the freezing lake but other than that he faired quite well and even managed to make it up the trail with 25 pounds of extra rocks in his pack. (he still beat everyone except 2 of the boys)


Katie took advantage of Emma being in town to catch up and let the kids play. We were also able to go to Disneyland on what had to of been the hottest and most crowded day ever. We hit a few rides and then spent most of the time in the water playground at California Adventure. Ryan is starting to lose his fear of some of the characters he doesn't scream now but he's still not so sure about the big mouse. Ryan loves playing in water any chance he gets... he will even walk onto random peoples lawns trying to play in their sprinklers. He has also gained a great love for swimming. Any time he sees water he says "swimming?" Katie is very protective of our light complected little guy and lathers him up every 3o min or so.






On the way home from a friends house Mario realized he had forgotten something and said CRAP and from the back seat we hear "crap crap crap crap" We are quickly learning that everything he hears may be repeated. He is such a talker that sometimes we have to ask ourselves where he learned that word from. Mario tried to get Katie in trouble the other day because he was asking for "candy." That was one instance when we asked ourselves where DID he learn that word from?
